The terms heart attack and sudden cardiac arrest are often used interchangeably, even in the media. But these two conditions are NOT the same.

Cardiac arrest has an 8% survival while a the survival rate of a heart attack is 85%. 

Knowing the symptoms of each, and what to do if you witness either of these conditions, can mean the difference between life and death.

There are nearly 370,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests each year.
